    Hi,

I’m a Lebanese Christian. I’m somewhat aware of the Hindu culture. I
have some knowledge of the Veda books, the Upanishad and the yoga
practice. But those are things deduced by human contemplation and
experience. The only religion directly inspired by God is
Christianity. I will tell you a little about Jesus Christ (the son of
God) life on earth. He descended from heaven for the salvation of
human kind. He was born from a Virgin. He did many miracles by healing
sick people and even raising people from death. His speak and teaching
is full of love and wisdom. During his life in earth he didn’t
committed any error. But he was crucified (put to death) because he
was against the hypocrisy of the religious community of his time and
because he declared that he is the son of God. But he rose from the
    death after 3 days.

He promised eternal life for everyone who believes in him and acts
according to his teaching. The Gospel (Jesus life) is available on the
net why you don’t read it and decide by yourselves.

if you need any further information don’t hesitate to contact me.

    Regards

      Dear Zaki,
It is obvious that your awareness of Hindu culture falls far short of the minimum needed to understand the basics. I am a Hindu and have read some Hindu scriptures, incl. the Bhagawadgeeta and some of the Upanishads. I have also read the Bible in parts in addition to commentaries on it, and have concluded that I would rather keep to my present religion, rather than go by what you have said, since my religion gives me the freedom to use my brain rather than blindly believe what is mentioned in our scriptures, unlike what you have mentioned (about immaculate conception and rising from the dead after 3 days), as a result of constant brainwashing right from childhood.
      Best wishes and regards,
      Sunandan

      Hello Zaki
before commenting on any religion, pl make an attempt to know something about it. looks like you need to read about both Hinduism and Christianity. You can visit newgoloka temple at Hillsboro, NC and learn about Hinduism and then comment after understanding Hinduism.

Priest is asking money from divotees that’s not good. But the problem in most of the Temples in US they pay to priest around $500. To $1500. Per month. That’s not good if they can’t afford priest, shouldn’t hire, in my states here 20 Mandir within 50 miles how community

We have got Pooja done by priest Krishnakant. The temple asked to donate $151 and give some amount to priest as per our wish. So I gave 50% of the donation to the priest as per temple suggestion. The priest happily accepted the amount but next day he called asking more money because he said he used his own pooja material.
I was surprised by the next day call and when he said ‘it is the problem of all people’ that they pay less to the priest giving me some examples/names of people where he did the pooja. Actually i was shocked with such comment and priest doing casteism.
I think priest should not make such comments and if he thinks thats the fact then should not accept pooja offer from any person.
Also if he wants more money he should ask the same day of pooja and should not asked on later day.
I think, i paid what temple asked me to and priest had happily accepted. I would have also paid extra but after hearing such comments i become really upset and decided not to pay. I may not call him again or suggest him to anyone of my friends.
Otherwise HSNC is going great job and I wish they continue the good work.

    • shan says:

I agree with PTB. Actually after paying a good donation to temple, we have to give additional amount to pujari which shouldnt be less than 50% of donated amount. if someone pay less than that then he gets upset.
Now we have started booking private pujari.

    • kp says:

We had an issue with pandit Krishnakant too. I had booked him for two big events. He created fuss and tension because the event started 20 mins later than expected..he kept harrasing our friends and family that were there ahead of time to start asap as he has to leave. Mind you he was booked for this event 3 months in advance. He tried to leave the puja earlier and said that u guys continue to do rest! Not getting him again or recommending to other friends.

To the Camp Director of the Hindu Society of North Carolina,
My name is Christina Healey and I am a student at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. I am a Religious Studies major and am spending the summer working on my senior thesis. The focus of my thesis is the structure of religiously affiliated summer camps and how they encourage a religious experience or further religious involvement for the campers. In order to gather a variety of information about different types of religiously affiliated camps, I have created a short 10 question survey for you and a few members of your staff about the structure of your camp. If you are interested in helping me gain information about summer camps, please let me know soon. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you for your time
